Oakland San Leandro, East Bay Politicos Say Steven Tavares Gets Paid To Write Crap About People When Now-Former Oakland Councilmember Bryan Azevedo was running for re-election, one of his campaign operatives told me personally that it was widely known that San Leandro Blogger Steven Tavares was hired to put out negative information about him. That was not new news to me or to anyone in San Leandro Politics. For several years, politician after elected official, after political aide has told me the so-called “East Bay Citizen” Steven Tavarez , and I quote, “Is paid to put out crap about people”. In other words, negative opinions. I guess it’s a slow news day for Mr. Tavares because he decided to write a totally mindless take that makes me think he’s either drinking too much or high, or suffering some brain-slowing illness that he needs to get help for, and we need to pray for his recovery from. Steven wrote that “Abraham falsely claimed I was known to accept money in exchange for favorable news coverage.” First, the sentence structure is terrible. I did not falsely claim that he was known to write crap about people, I said that, and because, as I stated, it’s true. What’s even funnier is Steven – who I have lost complete respect for after he made fun of me being caregiver for my Mother on a podcast with former Oakland Mayoral Candidate and Councilmember Loren Taylor (and where Taylor called and texted to apologize but to this day Steven has done nothing ) even though I gave him a complementary set of videos while at the Coliseum JPA meeting (and for no charge) that are at Zennie62 YouTube for you to see right now – forgets that his website has a big ass “Subscribe” button on it. That immediately implies that Steven gets paid to do what? To write crap about people. It never ceases to amaze me how simple logic escapes Steven Tavarez. Anyone who thinks logically would realize that the only way to avoid the appearance of not getting paid to write something is to not have a dang “Subscribe” button on their blog. But Steven Tavarez is so busy thinking of crappy stuff to say about people, like me, he just plain loses sight of the image his own platform communicates. It says “pay me to put crap out about people that winds up on Google News.” Which I thought was a not-allowed and non-journalistic use of Google News, but then that’s another reason why I say people in media who spend time trying to give out titles that make them think they”re holier than thou , always show how they do not deserve the lofty platform they give themselves. Again, for most of the time Steven is someone I have wanted to like. At his best, he’s a funny guy who’s good with story-telling and fun to talk with. But he’s got this quirk that causes him to burn-bridges with the wrong people. I am one of those wrong people. I have come around to a path of forgiveness, but again, he brought up my Mother, so when I think about that, the walkway to complete forgiveness is much longer. On top of that, Steven Tavarez darkens my photo to emphasize that I am black, which is racist. It’s considered an editing choice meant to diminish the subject. I hope Steven realizes that the lives of people mean something. That Zennie62Media, Inc. does not get paid to put out crap about people, but we are paid to watch and fix the reputations of people. Everyone has a right to their story and the idea that a person has the right story because they call themselves journalists is one that disappeared 20 years ago. Some people just do not get the 21st Century. Steven Tavarez is one of them in my opinion. Neither does his friend Former San Leandro Councilmember Corina Lopez, who threatened to sue Zennie62Media for correctly pointing out her actions on the infamous San Leandro Library video that features her pushing two people at once in an effort to do her own version peace-making. Moreover, Lopez and Tavarez use the same video as if no one else can watch it. I changed that and made it visible to everyone.
